Common Stainless Steel Valves in Chemical Industry

In recent years, China's chemical industry has developed at a high speed. For development of chemical industry, stainless steel valves which are widely utilized to transport corrosive medium attract attention. The data showed that trading information about stainless steel valves were increased sharply in 2013, compared with 2012. Enquiries of stainless steel valve were also increased. Stainless steel ball valve, stainless steel gate valve, stainless steel globe valve and stainless steel check valve have the most enquiries.
The principle of stainless steel ball valve is that rotate ball is to open or to close valve. Stainless steel ball valve has low volume, reliable sealing, simple structure and convenient maintenance. Seal face and ball are always closed so that valve cannot be eroded by medium easily. Stainless ball valve is widely utilized in chemical industry. Stainless steel ball valve is classified into floating ball valve, trunnion ball valve and screw ball valve.
Stainless steel gate valve is commonly used in chemical industry. The seal faces of disc and base have high brightness. Disc integrates to base closely so that corrosive medium in pipes cannot pass through. Relying on shape of ejector pin, spring or disc can enhance sealing. Stainless steel gate valve is used to cut off medium. Stainless steel gate valve has low fluid resistance, low force to open or close. The valve can be used for double flowing medium. When the valve is opened completely, the seal face cannot be eroded easily. Stainless steel valve has short structure length. It cannot only be used as small caliber valve. It can also be used as large caliber valve. Based on threads on stem, stainless steel gate valve is classified into clear bar gate valve and dark bar gate valve.
Stainless steel globe valve also called as stop valve is one of the most common valves in chemical industry. Globe valve has low friction between seal faces, long service life, convenient manufacturing and maintenance. It is not only suitable for low pressure, also suitable for high pressure. The pressure on stem pushes disc to base tightly so that medium cannot pass through. Globe valve allows medium to flow in only one direction. So the direction should be focus when the valve is being installed. Its structure length is longer than gate vale so as to fluid resistance. Sealing is not so reliable when globe valve operates for a long term. Categories of stainless steel globe valve include straight-through globe valve, right-angle globe valve and straight-flow globe valve.
Stainless steel check valve is opened or closed automatically, depending on the pressure of medium. It is used to avoid backflow of medium. Check valve is also called as cut off valve, or one-way valve. Based on structure, check valve is classified into swing check valve and lift check valve
(1) Stainless steel swing check valve: The disc rotates with pin roll on base to close or open valve. Swing check valve can be classified into double disc swing check valve, double discs swing check valve and multi discs swing check valve. Their principles are the same. Water suck foot valve is a deformation of check valve. Its structure is the same as check valve. The bottom of foot valve is opened so that water can enter into valve.
(2) Stainless steel lift check valve: Disc rotates with vertical center line of body. Categories of lift check valve include horizontal check valve whose shape is similar to globe valve, used for horizontal pipes and upright check valve, used for vertical pipes. Besides horizontal check valve and vertical check valve, stainless steel check valve contains stainless steel multilayer check valve and wafer check valve.
