Improvement of Check Valve Applicable for Large Particle Medium

The HC41X muffle check valve is often applied in the water drainage pipeline, and the swing check valve applied in the oil pipeline. The check valve with a ball body is often preferable for the slurry media. And the valve clack is often in cone or ball shape with mosaic or coated soft materials. Due to the valve clack is covered with soft material which has a good elastic and shrinkage, the remaining small particle would embed into the soft material. Therefore the sealing is guaranteed when the conveyed medium is of small particle and the valve clack is in the closing state. Even though there is small particle medium on the sealing surface. But when the size of particle exceeds 2mm in the medium and the valve clack is in the closing state. The sealing can’t be tight because the soft material has a limited shrinkage which covers the valve clack of ball body. After the big particle embeds into the soft material, it would damage the soft sealing, thus leading the pump systems work abnormal.

First it considers that when the valve clack is closed, there is no possibility for big particles exist between the sealing surfaces. First, the cone or spherical valve seat can be changed into rectangular structure. And the valve clack is with metal cone or ball shape. This structure can guarantee the line sealing, preventing the big particles left on the sealing surface when the ball falls. Therefore a good sealing is realized. But with a rectangular structure, the valve seat can easily scratch the valve clack, making the sealing ineffective. In order to extend the service life of valve seat and clack, the wise choice is to welding hard alloy in the right angle. At the same time, the valve clack is designed with metal hollow sphere. Under the influence the fluid, different positions of valve clack contact the valve seat.
The improved check valve has been tested in a manganese smelter. The main ingredient of gangue is mud and quartz which have large size particle. The new check valve has effectively solved the poor sealing problem. The metal sealing valve seat prolongs the service life to three month.
