C line is a newly built energy artery to meet the requirements of clean energy in China in further, based on A line and B line having been built by CNPC (China National Petroleum Corp). C line, whose total length is 1,830km, is laid parallel to A line and B line. Designed annual capacity of gas transmission is 25 billion cubic meters and designed pressure is 9.81MPa. C line originates from the border between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, crossing through Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, entering into China from Khorgos in Xinjiang.

Currently, Central Asia gas pipeline A line and B line whose designed annual capacity of gas transmission is 30 billion cubic meters per year have transmit gas to China through the second line of the west-east gas pipeline, benefiting about 5 hundred million people in 25 provinces and cities. Central Asia gas pipeline C line connecting with the third line of the west-east gas pipeline will be increased to 55 billion cubic meters per year to meet the 23% of gas consumption in China when supporting facilities built completely by the end of 2015.

After C line transmitting gas, TPLINE (Trans-Asia Gas Pipeline Company Limited) who is in charge of construction and operation will ensure the line transmit gas to China safely and steadily and it will continue construction of the follow up station to enhance capacity of C line. Otherwise, it is estimated that Central Asia gas pipeline D line will begin to be built in this year.
