Petroleo Brasileiro has found new oil and gas-condensate in the already developed 2008 Jupiter presalt discovery in the deepwater Santos basin. It would start appraising production in 2019.

This extension well, 3-RJS-713 is 26 km northeast of the discovery well. In the 5,322 m in rocks, the extension well has been drilled 160 m gross hydrocarbon column with good porosity and permeability.

In the distinguished 100-m gross oil, a gas cap and condensate are included. Carbon dioxide is the ingredient of the gas but its total gross has not yet estimated.

Through analysis of sample, it shows that the fluid has no difference with those in the 1-RJS-652A Jupiter discovery well.

This extension well is reached a depth of 5,765 m and in 2,251 m of water. It has been the third well to be drilled in the Jupiter area.

The company will make a test in 2014 to test the characteristics and productivity of the reservoirs.

Only after getting approval from Brazil’s National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Agency, can the company go smoothly with the well estimation and the formation testing 2014.

Petrobras holds 80% interest of the BM-S-24 block, the remaining is took by the Galp Energia.

Galp Energia said that it hold 10% stake in Santos presalt blocks BM-S-11, 14% in BM-S-8. These blocks have the potential to contain flowing.
