Miller Energy Resources said that the oil production from the Osprey platform has exceeded 2500 boe/d, which resulted from the 250b/d of oil online production in the RU-5B sidetrack well.

Oil cut is getting better. The company staffs had been drilled no thing but water until the sidetrack was drilled. It reached a depth of 15750 ft.

After the rig 35 had drilled the RU-5B well, it had been moved to the RU-D1 disposal well which contains mud and cuttings to complete the planning work.

Relocated from Leg 3 to leg 2 in the Osprey platform, the rig 35 also undertake the drilling of the RU-9 well which is expected to be finished in the late this year and recover oil from a large four-way Redoubt Shoal structure.

At the same time, the company has speeded up its other project. Especially the Sword-1 well, Miller has started the completion work of the Sword-1 well after getting a depth of 18,475 ft MD and setting 5-in. casting. The well was reported to contain hydrocarbon and oil in the Tyonek-G, as well as the Hemlock oil zone.

There are a lot of zones that contains energy behind pipe. Between the liquid hydrocarbon zones and 66 ft in the gas-bearing zones, a 168 ft would be perforated. It is reported that the 950,000 bbl of oil is based on 43 ft of net pay. It is of high chance that the production from the Sword-1 can be twice in the West McArthur River field’s reserves which is a aid for drilling into the larger identified Sabre.

In the following several months, after testing and producing the shallower zones, the company will move to the Hemlock formation. Once it is completed, the company would results. The 35 rig would move to the West McArthur River Unit-8.

Due to the company is very appealing, it has got the Otter Unit approval from the state. The Olson Creek-1 well will be delayed for drilling to leave the Rig 34 for the Otter Unit, which has been committed to finish task in time. The otter-1 well is planed to begin drilling work in this month.
